The heart is the most important human organ in our body; it's associated with
life and deepest human emotions as love and fear. I wanted to combine this
human part with a natural one to represent a Nature that isn't different from us
but part of us. The heart-plant is also represented as an aggressive organ that
defends from dangers and sufferings of life through the numerous thorns.

Arancina (or arancino at masculine) is one of the most popular and known culinar symbol of Sicily,
my land. This is a food fried on the outside and stuffed inside of rice, tomato soup, cheese, peas
and meat. In this artwork I want to celebrate this food giving it a feminine body, the queen of the
typical food in Sicily.
